Upcoming Events!

March-30-2010 Hey everyone, I will be on soon to update the last few events I have attended. But first, I going to inform you all about upcoming events, yay! One is going to be at the very church I attend, Asbury Methodist Church in Forestville, almost across from Nuchies. The time and date will be after mass April 11th around 10am. We will hold a bake sale with lots of treats so come and bring family and friends! This will be to obtain funds for a family friend of mine, who is raising money for her MS walk team.
The other event which our dear Miss Bristol, Kalee Brunelle, organized will this Saturday at Ruby Tuesdays from 8-9 or 9-10! This is to support a beloved friend of ours, Jamie Botteon who got diagnosed with leukemia, but she's a tough girl and is staying strong! This event will be a breakfast which costs $6 a ticket, but $5 of that goes to Jamie and her family. We are very fortunate to have Ruby Tuesdays support this event, so much thanks to them! So please come to support, it's going to be very fun, with raffle tickets and many people! Big thanks again to Ruby Tuesdays and Kalee for organizing this great event.

Ciao for now! And remember to save these dates!:)

Home Show!

Feb-20-2010 Hey guys! Teen Miss Bristol here to tell you a quick update about recent events. I attended the Home Show which happened to be at the beloved school i attend, Bristol Eastern High school. Which by the way Eastern made states for boys varsity basketball! Anyway, the Home School was very interesting; it was my first time attending it and I thought it had many interesting stands there. Many people came from all over, there was Scarriot's hot tub and pool, The Bristol Press, police explorers and the very stand I was helping out in, Miss Mum's! It's a great way to put out your business.
Well for one thing, Miss Bristol and her court went around selling lunch and drinks; many people appreciated that at lunch time:) On our trip going around selling we got our picture taken with Kevin Booth from the Giants and got his autograph! He was very friendly, I wish the best for the Giant's upcoming year!
The crazy thing about this event was the fire alarm went off and the speaker told people to evacuate outside. While we were standing outside freezing and worried they finally called us back in, false alarm I guess. Then it happened again, then again! Three times the alarm went off!
Overall we had a great time, and good luck to all those businesses out there!:)

The Penguin Plunge!

1-24-2010 Sorry guys, i have not updated my page in a while! But I'm here now to talk about the Wonderful (but cold) cause, The Penguin Plunge. I was on Miss Bristol's court team, called Queens Rule, we had many supporters donating for this cause towards our team and we luckily raised 1000 dollars! Great job team-mates, and thank you to everyone who donated to our team and to The Penguin Plunge. This is an event i will never forget, it was truly heart touching how many people donated and came to this fundraising event! For those who don't know much about The Plunge, it is designed to raise money for the Special Olympics in Connecticut. They are Plunges held at different places in Connecticut, their motto is "Freezin' for a Reason!" And freezing is exactly right, as soon as our team jumped into the ice cold lake water we could feel how cold it actually was. I would totally do it again, it's a great memory and a great cause! Our whole team actually jumped into the water even our petite Miss Bristol, Paige Levesque jumped in. We had more people join us in the water from our crowned girls' relatives, Grace, Alana's little sister, and Kristina Mazzone's brother. Alana actually held two Miss Bristol titles before this as, petite and little Miss Bristol so she gave her sister a crown to wear for the day! We all had a lot of fun and were happy to donate and encourage others to be aware about Connecticut's Special Olympics. Here's the link to the Special Olympics event, The Penguin Plunge: http://www.soct.org/plunges/ I hope you check it out and get inspired to support this cause and raise money!

Thanks you! Sincerely,

Your Teen Miss Bristol, Cheyenne O'Donnell

Breakfast with Santa

Dec-5-2009 This event was at Giammatti at 8am! We all plus Miss Mum(Jessica Laprise) went to have a breakfast with Santa and the many children that came. Right as we got there we gave toys, that we raised from the toy drive, to Giammatti on the table full of many toys that people had brought for kids. Then soon after, as people were filling in, we set up a table for arts and crafts for kids to write a letter to Santa, Mrs.Claus, the reindeer or whoever. Kalee, and I went around the tables as soon people were done eating to bring them over to make a Christmas card! Paige, Sarina, and Alana stayed at the table to help with arts and crafts. Jessica went around to tables giving a nice holiday coloring book to each family. After recruiting people to make cards the kitchen needed Miss Bristol's help; they got her working right away bringing plates to tables of seconds, and filling cups for orange juice. The kitchen just busier and they needed more help so I tagged along taking plates of yummy strawberry filled cups to tables. That was the debut of my waitress career.
The food was really good, it consisted of: waffles, sausage, eggs, bacon, accompanied with juice or milk. After everyone ate there was a few things the families and kids could do: sing with the other crowned Miss Bristols who also tagged along with fun karaoke for kids to sing, pictures with Santa, or arts and crafts! I could tell how excited all the kids were and they were awesome at singing and making crafts:)
One of the most fun things at the event was when Alana's mom and Sarina's dad had a coloring page competition, whoever could make the best picture, i think Alana's mom won that contest. I tagged along coloring with Sarina's brother, I colored a reindeer. It was just a fun filled day!
P.s Yes that's the reindeer I colored!

Miss Bristol Toy Drive

Nov-29-2009 We all did the Toy Drive at Walmart in Bristol from 9am to 3pm. It was a good day to collect toys it wasn't too cold and many people came into Walmart! Everyone came and was ready to collect toys, some girls had to make posters for the event while others decorated cans to collect monetary donations. Kalee our Miss Bristol made an awesome poster for the event, it was just in time for the holidays, it had Christmas lights decorated on it. Lots of families came out to ask us what we were doing which was very friendly on their part, and after hearing about the Toy Drive almost all donated any way they could. Along with toys, we collected a good amount of monetary donations to go inside Walmart (taking turns of course) to pick out toys to add into our collection of toys to donate. Plus we took out lollipops (dumdums) to hand to people walking in and out of Walmart, to make their day better and to thank them for their donation! So thank you to everyone who donated or spread the word because we collected over 400 toys to bring to charities. After the drive we brought the toys to my house to count them and arrange them. But before we arranged them we (Miss Bristol and her court) got covered in all of the toys, it was like toy Heaven!

Thanksgiving Day Game

Nov-26-2009 The Thanksgiving Day Game is probably one of the most exciting events in high school while going to Eastern or Central! I happen to attend Eastern as a cheerleader as well as Miss Mum who is one my team. Kalee also goes to Eastern as a senior while Holly's daughter is a Central cheerleader and she got to walk her out in the introduction of all the senior cheerleaders and football players!

For this event all the girls in their crowns came out to walk for the beginning parade so Kalee, Alana, Sarina, Paige and Jessica came and we all walked holding hands and cheering for our teams. Jessica's sister, Lindsay Laprise, also a cheerleader joined us in our walk as being crowned as the "Football Queen!" Seva Galanis also from Eastern held hands with us too because she was crowned as Eastern's "Homecoming Queen!" It was an exciting year for Eastern, having all of us girls being crowned and also for the fact that they won "The Bell" yet again!
Regardless who won, we all had fun watching the game and cheering for our teams! We were glad we got to join the Game this year and have our Miss Bristol and Miss Mum toss the coin with Major Ward!

Bristol Library Harvest

Nov-18-2009 This was our First appearance as our new titles! Only Paige was not able to make this appearance, but Kalee, Alana, Sarina and I made it luckily. We went down to the Bristol Library to serve a Harvest Dinner for families in Bristol, it was for the children and their families. It's a mix of Thanksgiving foods that people brought. It was to be their favorite holiday eats(my word for food). I was serving the stuffing and could hardly resist it since stuffing is my favorite Thanksgiving dish!
Lots of families came to enjoy themselves to a nice environment and delicious food. All the volunteers and workers were very kind as well as the people. It was a fun first appearance and I'm sure it gave the girls a taste of how the year will be like, which was exciting.
